Giaa Manek to make a comeback in Saathiya

Looks like the dry spell in Giaa Manek’s career will soon get over. The actress, who had originally played Gopi Bahu in Saath Nibhana Saathiya, is all set to return to the Star Plus show after a gap of four years.

However, while the production house has decided to welcome Giaa into their fold once again, there is no clarity on whether she will reclaim Gopi’s role.  



The actress quit the show in 2012 on a very bitter note. She had a major fallout with producer Rashmi Sharma after participating in Colors’ dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and was replaced overnight by Devoleena Chatterjee.

Later, she appeared on SAB TV show Jeannie Aur Juju, but quit it in 2013. In fact, there was a buzz in the industry that not many makers are keen to cast the actress after she openly took on Star Plus (Hot Buzz: TV Channels Blacklist Giaa Manek, Oct 5).



Anyway, with the broadcaster ready for a patch-up, things are once again looking up on the professional front for Giaa.

A source says: “The track shows Gopi becoming a nani, but Devoleena has threatened to leave the show if there is a leap. That’s when Rashmi decided to get Giaa on board. Even if Devoleena agrees to play Gopi post the leap, Giaa might be given another role.”

The source adds: “Giaa and Rashmi were not on good terms for years, but they have decided to let bygones be bygones.”

All’s well that ends well.
